you would not happen to have any good plans like that for the citroen traction 11 avant? oh the 2cv there used to be a 24 hour race in Mondello race track for years with citroen 2cv's had a few hour stint myself during one of them races. very hairy trying to keep them on a race track when someone is trying to barge past you coming out on to the straight.

Here where I live in central France, the 2CV is very commonplace. 30-year olds are used as everyday cars, and the vans are very popular for ferrying around the goats etc. They're not even thought of as collectors' vehicles unless they're more than forty years old. Likewise old Renault vans, and even the odd Daf are seen on the roads. The Lada Niva, which is extinct in Britain, is seen frequently too. The French have the attitude that, if it's still working, why throw it away? As can be seen on the "brocantes" - like car boot sales - where all that they sell is rubbish that is so totally worn out as to be useless now.

You can watch races 2cv on "Youtube"
Here are links
YouTube - Colmarberg juin 2009 course 2CV
YouTube - 24h 24' 2cv la course...
YouTube - 24h 2CV Francorchamps départ
YouTube - 24h 24' 2 cv Francorchamps voiture13
These races take place primarily in Belgium
Cars (2CV and Dyane) are real prototypes and have no right to drive on the road
Some are equipped with engine 855cc BMW motorcycle, other motor CITROEN VISA / LNA which are 652cc instead of 602 of the original engine.
The engine 652 is more powerful (about 35 HP instead of 31 hp) and it has a fully electronic ignition

2cv race with BMW engine 855CC
MOTOR CITROEN LNA mounted in a 2cv (its appearance is almost similar to the original engine)

I personally bought a LNA to remove the engine, but when I saw the exceptional condition of this car age of almost 30 years, I decided to keep it. It runs every day.
I have no car "modern" ...
I found an engine LNA I'll prepare and change to put in my Dyane 6 (it will receive a Weber carburetor 40DCOE with a special intake manifold ...

My CITROEN LNA

the LNA is a body of PEUGEOT 104 COUPE in which it has installed an engine flattwin cooled air, and that to sell the car cheaper than a conventional engine)

In France, the 2cv illustrated in championbnat auto-cross (2CV CROSS)

You will notice on the video above that are 2voitures a barrel, which is extremely rare for the 2cv
It must be really great as you can judge by looking at the pictures link below

Here is mine, off that original website mentioned in the first posting. BTW, I couldnt get that link to work, but this one did:

papercraft: Build your own (paper) 2CV

I dusted it up a bit and resized it, as I wanted to use in in a diorama. It sure is a cute little model. :-)

Thank you for this additional information and images of a wonderful automobile. I have always loved the Deux chevaux, although I have never owned, or even driven, one. When I was in junior high school, I read a book about some young men who drove the length of Africa in a 2CV.

When we lived in Japan, there was a steel grey 2CV with a beautiful wooden dashboard in the Roppongi area of Tokyo that I saw many times.
