Sheridan M551A1

For the armor fans who liked the Panhard AML light armored cars. The designer Evens is starting a thread on the design and build of the Sheridan M551A1 on the Cardarmy forum. (Direct link) (Translated link). It looks to be a very promising model I can't wait to see the kit when its available. If we are lucky he will release it to the modeling community as he did with the Panhard's.

That is awesome! I look forward to seeing more of this, too.

Here is a funny for you. Since I am currently stationed in Iraq the "Translated Link" automatically translated the entire thing into Arabic.

Definitely a model that's been missing. I was hoping that Jules Perdana would design one, along with an M60A3, back when he was still selling his models, but it never came to be.

I always thought the Sheridan was a good-looking AFV and, with its association with the cavalry, one that is much worth modeling, even though it was often maligned when it was in service. The impressive rooster tail of exhaust made for dramatic images when it was underway, although the crews were not so happy about having their location being given away so impressively.

I was blown away by the Panhard designs and level of detail, so it's no surprise to see the Sheridan laid out to a similar standard.

I wonder what it would take to get a Ferret Scout Car done? Is he open to suggestions? ;-)

Ervins has updated his M551A1 design/build. He is working on the Turret basket and gun detail.
