Cheers cMags. I have seen this site before, but that Flying boat wasn't there last time I looked. Now added to my collection.
I'm not particularly aviation minded, but I'm fascinated by flying wings and fllying boats for some reason. I wonder ... did anyone build a seagoing flying wing? Johnny. |

Did anyone ever successfully download the sailplane model? I used the ie trick to download the other models but the sailplane image was linked back to the model page.
If anyone knows the correct path to this model please post it here. Thanks, Curt |

Curt,
e-mail the site holder to let him know the link is broken. If you 'translate' the site you'll find he does ask for this. If you click on mij a.u.b. informeren a 'MAIL' tag will pop up to connect you through to [email protected] It will be a very rare Dutchman if he cannot converse in English. Johnny. I've tried with IE, FF, and Chrome to get the Dornier.
It seems to DL OK, but I'm only getting the 1st three pages. After that the reader crashes to (not responding). I've also tried to download the Sailplane, but get nothing on that. I have e-mailed mailto:[email protected] to let him know, but I strongly suspect it is a problem with the server. I've never known a website so sloooooow to download, regardless of browser used. Johnny. |

Can't get the Glider though. The Dornier is a beautiful Model. Incredible that it is free! The same with the Tiger Moth, the potential is astounding! This guy wasn't playing around. The textures on all the models are incredible. The models are not overdone, yet look like they can be taken to superb levels and are great as is. The instructions and documentation are professional.
The Fairchild 27 is so excellent, I would wonder why anyone would by the pay for version!! The Westland Whirlwind is also incredible! This is quite a find! The Spitfire looks awesome too as is the F-86. The Joint Strike Fighter is amazing in detail. Every model I have downloaded and looked at is so well documented, and the instructions so excellent, I really cannot believe they are free. At first I thought they were for sale. I am happy I re-read this post! WHAT A FIND!! There is easily a Winter's worth of models here! Last edited by Zathros; 09-05-2011 at 11:58 AM. |

I got a reply from Gerard.
He admits that the Glider link is duff and will attempt to fix it when he returns from holiday. So wait out on that one. The Dornier is a strange one to me though. I have actually downloaded it successfully, but having tried to run it in several different PDF readers it does things I've not come accross before. Pages 1 to 3 load in OK but pages 4 to 7 all take from 30 to 40 seconds to appear. Giving the initial impression that the page is blank. By patiently waiting, the page is slowly re-drawn on screen. I've never seen this happen before. Also as I'm having other unexplained problems with my printer at the moment, I haven't yet attempted to print it out to card. Perhaps my reader anomalies are related to my printer problems too. The Dornier does indeed look to be a really excellent model, and I look forward to making it. Johnny. |

I think that may be because he did not flatten all the images, which in reality means, the model would be very easy to recolor, if someone was so inclined. With Adobe 9.0 you can combined the .pdf's into one. Select them all, then "Right Click" and it will combine them, select, "Large Size" to retain the quality. The reduction in size is substantial. It makes it easy to view and deal with the models, for me anyways.
