Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station

Here is the Route 66 Abandoned Gas Station, but it does not seem abandoned, oh, no. In fact this is the famous Route 666 Damned Gas Station, and it is located at some point of the Route 66, just at midnight of august, 13. Yes, just one time in year. Poor man who parks his car in this place, because this will be the last stop of your life...

Mauther, I love all your models. Your choices of subjects and the artistry of your execution are simply great. And this one is just screaming for a few spirits of the past! Thank you for yet another great kit!

THIS...IS...absolutely fantastic!

beautiful!

First thing I said to myself was "self...I wonder how small I could build this?
I wonder if this would fit my KoolWheelz cars?"

and first thing I see on your webpage is "This is perfect for a Hot Wheels Diorama."
LOL
perfect is right!

5 bitmap pages...but the artwork looks great.
And obviously, from the photos, the build looks great!

...oh my, I have a wonderful idea.
This would make an amazing contest!
...I am just throwing this idea out there.

Lets have a contest to see what everyone can do with this Diorama?

Download the Diorama model...build it, alter it, add to it, change it.
Lets see who comes up with the most interesting or captivating build!?
But you have to start with Mauther's complete kit.
All parts must be used.

What do you think?
I'll even put up a prize.

If anyone else is interested, i will organize it.

Thanks - great fun, I always like when a diorama comes with a story. It is more fun that way. Love the period signs and coke machine too.

Can we use parts of other Mauther projects in the contest?

His blog and material found at other forums is a cornucopia of creativity.

yes, I'm thinking we build a Diorama model starting with Mauther's kit.
The rule would be you have to use this Abandoned Gas Station kit in its entirety.
How you alter it, add to it, modify it...is all up to you.

And that would be the contest part.
We could vote on the most imaginative or unique build.
(so its not just about modelers skill level)

seriously, if there are a few interested in this, I will set this up for later this month.
or maybe for the beginning of October?

I think this could be a lot fun.

as I said, if enough are interested in taking part I will start a contest thread
with my ideas.
