On another note, I bought some #11 surgical scalpel blades from Amazon for about $13 for 100 of them. This was 3 weeks ago and I've been cutting a bunch of mat board for school. Still on the first blade, and they fit in my xacto handle.
Link available for exact Amazon item?

Never received mine either
I took to setting all email from XActo to Spam.
All I got was advertisements from them.
Closed the account there at Xacto too, stating No More emails wanted.

I am also interested in the name or link on Amazon.

Fascinating! From earlier threads, we know that X-Acto blades were not the favorites of most Forum members. We also know that not receiving one tiny blade would be utterly insignificant among all the other disappointments of life. But the petty irritation of not delivering on the free offer, or of bad quality in the new-style blade, is apt to put the X-Acto company on many personal brown lists. If you can't do a promotion right, you're better off not doing it at all.

OLFA!

Anything else is a waste of time and money. I have been preaching this for years. These new X-Acto blades are just the same old scrap steel with a fancy and expensive coating on them. Think razor blades.

Olfa blades are high carbon steel, double ground. I am an amateur machinist and this material is what is used to cut the steel from which Xacto blades are made.

You cannot apply much pressure with these as the shanks will easily break. They are, indeed, extremely sharp, precision ground high carbon steel. But, remember, they were designed to cut flesh. I use them, too, but usually make a few light cuts as opposed to one heavy one.
