Since you've covered sea and air, how about the Wreck of Old 97: "She was comin' down grade doin' 90 miles an hour, when her whistle broke into a scream . . . "

How about the Black Tom explosion in New York harbor on July 30, 1916. An island used to store munitions destined for the UK during WWI. The ammo dump was sabotaged by German agents. Big boom.

The Halifax Explosion of 1917.

Was the largest man made explosion ever before the atomic bomb.

CBC - Halifax Explosion

Halifax Explosion - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

One could create the fateful collision of the IMO and the MONT BLANC.

I like this concept!! How about the Krakatoa disaster? Atlantis sinking! The Tay Bridge Collapse! The Great Deluge! The Cretaceous Comet! Vesuvius!
I do like the idea of a paper model capturing a moment in time/history, as opposed to merely modeling a specific article (nothing wrong with that, though!).
Of course, a sense of sensitivity is called for. I suggest that the disasters selected be distant in time enough not to raise genuinely painful memories.
Bravo, sir, keep up the good work!
Chris

Or the disastrous moments in history that change everything? ABC, the Czech model magazine, published a beautiful little diorama of the moment that the Serbian Black Hand agent shot the Archduke Ferdinand in Sarajevo... Rob Tauxe

What a clever and unusual idea! And with human failing being what it is, there is no end to the possibilities. Love the two you have chosen so far. Eagerly awaiting The Alamo.
Thanks for a new collection.
