These buildings could make the basis of an interesting early 1940's factory block diorama.
A lot of Japan's WW2 industry was dispersed in small wood frame factories that fed into larger factories that made the larger parts and did the final assembly.
Most of the old wood construction factory and residential districts did not survive the war.
If you can find a copy of Akira Kurosawa's movie "Stray Dog" from 1949 you can get an idea how Japanese cities were "knocked back into the stone age" by the USAF. It is about a policeman (Toshiro Mifune, Yayyy!) who had his gun stolen and follows the thief into parts of Tokyo that were still shacks and temporary construction. Its a great movie .
Even the 1963 movie "High and Low" shows that clean up and rebuilding was still going on, with a lot of tacky looking quick builds shown in the background and contrasts the life of successful post war profiteers with the majority of people who were just barely getting by.
Very different from the cutting edge glass and steel cities of Japan today.
