Roman Castrum In Romania

Here is the Roman Castrum in Romania, ready to download. This model was made using Sketchup to draw the basic lines, then this first model was unfolded in Pepakura. The resulting templates were opened in MsPaint for applying textures and tabs and fix small errors.

A castrum was a fortified military building by the ancient Romans, sometimes reconstructed. This model is freely based in a gate entrance located at Porolissum, an ancient Roman city in Dacia, Romania.

Porolissum was an ancient Roman city in Dacia. Established as a military camp in year 106 a.c, during Trajan's Dacian Wars, the city quickly grew through trade with the native Dacians and became the capital of the province Dacia Porolissensis in 124.

The site is one of the largest and best-preserved archaeological sites in modern-day Romania.

I wonder if Zio Prudencio's legionary could be shrunk down this small and still be buildable?

Thanks for the gate model.

To Vermin King:

Hello, VK, yes it`s something aprox. HO scale.

To John Wagenseil:

Hello, John,

I think it is possible if you print the ZP legionary in thin paper or rescaling this Roman Castrum to a larger size.

Greetings from Brazil!

Increase it by about 10%.

25mm is approximately 1:76, while HO is 1:87, so they are fairly close.

At Cardboard Warriors, most figures are 28mm, so they recommend printing between 125% and 150%

I think that during the Zio Contest, there were a few builds of his figures at small scale. The legionnaire is 90mm. To get to 'Heroic Scale' you would build it at 1/3 of the normal size. Then you'd have to reduce again to get to HO.

Not a job for me ... I still want to try one at 1/3, but I can't see going any smaller than that. I'd say compromise. reduce the size of the legionnaire and increase the size of the building.
