But if you read the accompanying text, he is not selling the prints as models! He has just taken the layout of a paper model as the template for this art work...he is not selling it to build but to hang on the wall -flat!

No, I did read the text, the artist said it is a complete models, could build the model if one wish to. The funny thing is ART can be anything, eyes of the beholder, you how that work :D I like the red one a lot. I will try to do one like it too with my Savoia.S21.

Yes, you do seem to be right about it not being all there. It does have the colorful cockpit canopy, but not the cockpit itself and I'm not spotting the engine cone or prop. You could still borrow a few parts from someone else's Zero when you build your floral plane. I saved the files, but it won't be high on my build list.

I have to wonder if there aren't some copy-write issues here. Does anyone recognize the original model?

Guys,

I would bet that the model is based on a Halinski kit.

A novel concept could be that he created his own model pattern...

Almost all of these models have the same construction technique.

@ARMORMAN, "Wow, the colors man, do you see the colors!

i'm not sure that he did create his own model pattern, just the color patterns applied, but it looks like they were done well. many years ago an artist did something similar with (i think), the classic FG cub. sure, it was intended to be displayed flat, but manner of presentation does not always an artist make or protect from suspicion....

if it were one of our designs (at that price), no matter who colored it, we would expect at least some sort of "cut" from the proceeds (1/10th?). it could very well be that the "artist" in question did design the model or has permission to re-paint from whoever did originally design it. this is one of those "grey" areas. designers MUST make an effort to protect their copyright(s), but there can be marketing advantages to allowing permission for re-paints, multi-marketing, and a willingness to work with others who might be able to improve upon what you have created. you might just learn something.
