A British marked (112 Sqn?) P40 Kittyhawk was found in the desert unfortunately it's already being smashed and stripped by the locals

Nice find.... shame it was by the wrong people ! They don't really understand the Historical significance of what they have found, and just strip it - This is sad, really sad !

i don't think that the aircraft is being stripped by locals.... i didn't see any houses around and the guys all look like they are wearing schlumberger coveralls. they could have just stumbled upon it while surveying a new pipeline route. that happens a lot.... more than you might think.

I think your right, there is more information in the comments of the second video
Crush Air plane 2 movie.mp4 - YouTube
The ammo has been removed by the Egyptian Army.I found the first video on a forum the comments there suggested that locals had ripped it apart, here they suggest otherwise.Hopefully the plane will be recovered either way I hope someone can say what the fate of the pilot was,it doesn't seem the best of places to go roaming.
