1/17 is NOT 17%.
I am not good enough to do that in my head either.

Miles, your 1/6th scale is about right. If 72 inches of the real car corresponds to one inch of the model, it's 1/72nd scale. If 24 inches of the real car corresponds to one inch of the model, it's 1/24th scale. If the real Veyron is 175.7 inches long and the model is 30 inches long, then 5.85 inches of the real car corresponds to one inch of the model, so the scale is 1/5.8th (one five-point-eighth) -- very close to 1/6th.
Dan's point is important, too. Remember that 50% = 1/2, 25% = 1/4, 20% = 1/5, 10% = 1/10, and 5% = 1/20. And your 17% = 1/5.8.

Dear Yale:
Thank you so much for the clear info. some where in the deepest darkest part of the basement must be an antique Texas Instrements 57 or 59 and print dock and I did many years ago a program on magenit tape card to do the calucation must try to find it and see if it still works. Out of interest I found out by trying that the PDF print option if set to 16 pages to one page will put original to 1/6 scale. I worked with RocketManTans Titanic Life vest to fit Barbie doll. Thanks Again, MILES |

It's a paper model so it needs to be printable. So print it using a printer emulator (although not all of them will work). Then play with that.
