One caution when downloading flying scale model plans - the tail surfaces may have been enlarged to improve the model's flight characteristics.

GOOD call on that one . I needed a nose section for a B17 G so I think that will be ok !

Thanks for the fabulous post! I always felt there must be a site like this one but never could find it in my searches.
When I saw those plans I was instantly transported back to the 1950s in the basement of my parents house sitting there at the old kitchen table that was now a work space. That first thrill of removing the plastic shrink wrap from the box, being greeted with the musty smell of balsa wood parts ready to begin. Sadly, there always came the shock of disappointment when somehow the few thin sheets of printed balsa parts was all the contents held. There always seemed to be a huge disconnect between the box cover art and reality. I wonder now if some of those cool super hero names the aircraft had were somehow meant to cover up for a less than stellar design. Thanks for the site post and the memories. |
