ScaleModelPlans.com

Not sure if this subject belongs here, but I was just alerted to this site:

HO, N, O and OO Scale Model Building Plans for Railroads and Dioramas - ScaleModelPlans.com

Interesting concept -- building blueprints and templates in PDF format, available in popular model railroad scales. Included are full color templates, so you can build a cardstock model. I suppose you could use the cardstock version to help plan your layout, then eventually replace it with a more "craftsman" model (foamcore, stripwood, commercial castings, etc.) using the same plans and templates.

....nice looking models, but i think these are a bit over-priced considering the huge number of free building models and the relative scale. i'm sure they'll still sell plenty...

Considering what model railroaders are accustomed to pay for similar stuff, the price is somewhat reasonable. And it appears that the "craftsman" plans also include internal details such as walls, door locations, etc. It should do fairly well in the intended market.

I don't see how you figure they are over priced! I checked out the website and they seem to average aroubd 7 to 10 dollars. The plans for the house I'm living in were no more complicated and they cost be about a grand.
