Van Gogh - The Yellow House Paper Model

Here is a simple small diorama which is a reinterpretation of a Van Gogh painting, The Yellow House, from 1888. Download link at the end of this post. Enjoy!

"In May 1888, Van Gogh rented four rooms on the right-hand side of a house on the Place Lamartine in Arles. His living quarters were the ones with the green shutters. His bedroom lay beyond. Vincent had finally found a place where he could not only paint but also welcome his friends. His goal was to establish a “Studio of the South,” where he and like-minded artists could work together". - Van Gogh Museum

Excellent concept! You did a great job "extending" the painting into the third dimension. I hope you create more like this. Bravo!

I really like this 3D take on 2D art - there was a great display on a similar theme at Scale Model World at Telford last year, with individual takes on classic box art...I know it's plastic but still IMHO quite a neat idea...and maybe one that could be applied in paper modelling based on the cover art of those paper models that have such...

This link is to some of the pics I took last year...Weekly Photo Challenge: Distorted The World According to Me…

This is a beautiful diorama. As in the case of the dioramas based on Japanese woodblock prints, this brings a great work of art to life.

Muchas Gracias Mauther mi amigo for this very clever and very neatly done diorama/vignette.
As others have said, this is a very clever concept, and one which works extremely well.
It is very visually appealing.

Kind and Respectful Regards Mauther mi amigo, Uyraell.

Just downloaded VanGogh. Great model. If it is anything like the "HILLBILLY SNAIL" it will be fun as well as fantastic. Thank you for this wonderful model.
