Modellours Workshop: Saipan beach tank - Diorama of the Day

Sorry it's in plastic. This would have been awesome in card stock don't you think? Any one up for the challenge? wc

Plastic it is, but phenomenally good also, extending in fact well into excellence.
Certainly the tank and seaweed could be rendered in paper, though I suspect a complete new technique would have to be evolved for the treads and roadwheels to be rendered as the diorama has them. The clear resin used for the water would, I'd think, present some problems in being too heavy for the card hull of the vehicle to withstand the inward pressure (even with unseen internal bulkheads and formers) , but I'd think a new technique might evolve there also.

Kind and Respectful Regards my friends, Uyraell.

Wow this diorama is just fantastic... I wonder how he got the water so very clear without any big bubbles, and the fish aligned so well. Just fantastic...

Have a look here for some mid boggling model scenes - you need to dig into the threads and pictures a bit to really appreciated the work!

I have booked mark this web site with the hopes of coming back to it when the weather is wet with rain and the wind is blowing across my California coast and my hands are cramping up preventing me from modeling. This is just plain wild. I have a good friend I will share this site with who is much more into dioramas then I. I love them; I just can’t build them if you understand what I’m trying to say. Unbelievable. Thank you Kevin for the link. WOW!!! .

When the result is that good it does not matter what the medium is, after all, we are not snobs here.
