Early Christmas Pressie

Hi, and Merry Christmas to all!

My grandson (5) is coming over this weekend, and I thought I'd make something to amuse him. I built Kittyhawk Software's MiG-15, available now only from Mike Hungerford, at Mike Hungerford: Paper Paradise Free Models.
It's a great little model - sturdy and a good flyer. Excellent even for little 'uns to play with!

Looks very good. Did you build it at scale? I was thinking of reducing it myself

I built it at 100% of the original file. It has a wingspan of 195mm, and the real thing is 10.1 m so that makes the model just about 1/52nd. I think if it was reduced in size it would still build OK but might not fly so well.
I also used 180gsm paper, which makes it very sturdy but a bit heavy, but it still flies with catapult launch.
If I do another. I'll remove the dotted fold line indicators first. I like the fold on the wing which gives it a bit of an airfoil shape and a stiffer wing, without the need for a curved shape and formers.
