New Landships to download
There are new WWI tanks models posted on Landships II.
Many thanks to Wayne McCullough for another amazing model. With a little tweaking the grey version could be made into a real Mother! |

Not quite - it's known that Mother was riveted using a different pitch (spacing) so using a Mark I model isn't strictly accurate. There are detail differences between Mother and the Mark Is as well. Wayne has expressed some interest in creating a model of "Mother" so it may happen.
Wayne has a Mark I Male (C5 "Creme de Menthe") in the pipeline - it has been beta built and is undergoing final mods before release. Regards, Charlie |

Let me change that to "with a lot of tweaking" ....

Incidentally Mother was of course a Male tank - still there was a war on at the time and everything was a bit mixed up anyway. |

Probably would have been better if they had stuck with the original name - "Big Willie" - I don't think the name had the modern resonances back in 1916.

Helen has asked about doing "Mother", too. I'll look into it, but only after making mods to MkI for the MkII and MkIII. Known issues are the rivet pitch ( a bit of a pain), hull roof escape hatch location (minor adjustment), no baffles on the exhaust ports (easy to delete them). I would leave the tail wheel assembly as-is, though I suspect the reinforcing plates on top and bottom were added as a result of trials with "Mother". In summary - "Mother" is on my list, but not a high priority at the moment.
