Wink Working on a list of freeware Japanese models: Fire Department Sections

The past months I've spent a lot of time searching Japanese websites for free models. I found a lot.
At the moment I'm working on a list of Fire and Rescue related models I've downloaded. I'm sorting out models from 140 different fire departments or related organisations. Please consider this as a work in progress, some sites need to be re-visited for the links and correct prefecture of the city.
If a cityname is written in blue, then there's a working link. The links are provided in the attached xls file, wich will be updated in the near future. I do not claim this to be the ultimate file, so if you think there's a something missing, please let me know in your comments...

--- to be continued --

That's it for the moment, daily life is waiting....... I'll be back.....

Nice work, but I think those links won't be working untill you have made 10 posts, It's the way the forum is protected from spambots, but maybe one of the admins can have a look in this matter

download the zipfile, extract the included xls file, the links are in the column on the right. this is just the tip of the iceberg, a large amount of models to be included yet. with about 140 sites to download models from, it's my guess there will be more than 500 different models in the list....

a few remarks:

most models are designed by Hiroyasu Kato, and there's no need to make recolors of the models, because he already did (there is a lot of variety in paintschemes e.d) Mr Kato also makes payware models, so all copyright belongs to him

scale

i haven't figured out in what scale these models are, but here are some general specifications i found on several websites:

ladder trucks: width = between 2400 mm - 2490 mm = 7 feet 10 31/64 inches
large trucks (pumps, rescue, chemical fire etc) = between 2225 mm - 2300 mm = 7 feet 6 inches
small trucks = 1900 mm = 6 feet 3 inches
ambulance nissan (= nissan elgrand) = 1900 mm = 6 feet 3 inches
ambulance toyota = 1880 mm = 6 feet 2 inches

mitsubishi (fuso) trucks are mostly from the "canter" type or "super great" type
hino trucks are mostly from the "ranger" type. hino also makes a special chassis for ladder trucks, these are called "hino mh"
light trucks from isuzu are the "elf" type

i'll try to finish this job this weekend (or i try to get as far as i can), but the weather is nice in the netherlands, and the women are beatiful on the beach

version 1.2: 500 models

this is the result so far, still not all models i've found have been included.......but i think these link to 560 files ( about 500 models ) should give you a good headstart.
i have my doubts i will be able to finish this list before the end of august..

i've included the list as i made it for my personal use, that should explain the "engrish"

enjoy!!!!!!

Nice job! You might also consider adding some of the more useful sites you found to our links section ...
