Updated Kawasaki City web page with NEW modern tatebanko!!!!

I revisited the Kawasaki City web site and they have a new model posted:

宝物ペーパークラフト NO.6 かわさきの工場夜景

It is a diorama of the waterfront.

Previous post was here:

Kawasaki Bikes, Landmarks ( including tatebanko) and Roses.

Just as a reminder the link above, the old post, has a nice tatebanko style Edo period Japanese department store.

The designer seems to have had an interesting sense of irony.
The diorama shows a tourist boat, threatened by a giant mutant shark, in front of a flaming sea side chemical plant.
Sort of like the recent Korean movie "The Host" where toxic waste poured into a river turns a little tad pole into a enormous people eating monster.

New Model for 2012

A tram station landscape has been added to this site.

つ*ってみよう!宝物ペーパークラフト

The scenic mud flats next to the station and smog tinged sunset have been beautifully depicted.

This one doesn't look like it is by the same artist. Seems a little odd to have it on a site 'promoting' an area. I have taken some of the pieces from most of the other dioramas, but this one doesn't grab me.

I have to apologize to the designer and the Kawasaki City Council. It is sun dappled red brown colored water in an urban canal, with a boated man fishing in it in the foreground, not a mud flat.

This is updated page with the new download links for all of the Kawasaki City paper models. This includes the infamous "Man fishing on a mudflat diorama", and "Tourist boat about to be eaten by giant mutant anime shark with apocalyptic industrial waste land in background".
?????????????????
The latest addition to the collection, a trolley bus tatebanko, was just posted by Mauther on his Papermau Blog. One of the strap hangers appears to be suffering from alopecia. Could this be the result of eating the fish caught on the mud flats?
Here is a useful sign that could be rescaled, cut out and placed next to the trolley stop:

I am getting "Uh, Oh, Something Went Wrong 404 error"
when I try many of the links posted here.

This one gives them most;
http://www.city.kawasaki.jp/61/61kusei/home/papercraft/

I believe most of these are gone then??

Hi Edsel
I tried the new link and it works, I think you were using the old link from the first post which no longer works.
Try the new link to the list page again:

?????????????????

and here are links to individual pages:

If you still have problems, try clearing cookies, close and restart your browser.
These models have been around for awhile, but their URLs keep changing.

I think the Meiji period (end of the samurai era) restaurant is their best one
