Thank Heavens for photoshop. I am going to do a cut-n-paste to fix. Is a neat model otherwise.

Using Adobe and keep my cookies down.....I like this model....it would be nice with the other USS Monitors that I have accumulated!! Still need Avery's version.

USS Monitor

I can't answer any technical questions . However it downloaded fine for me, both parts and instructions. I'm on a Mac, if that is of any help.

I saw what you're talking about Doug. Seemed to me that it would fit against the top red bar. Could be wrong tho', it has been known to happen.

Hmmm. Looked fine as I was downloading, but mine is going to have a major leak, too.

That is what I thought at first. After looking at it it does appear that a section is missing. In the pic it is symetrical with the areas designated with 1 and 2, but the area designated with 3 and the arrows is missing from the bottom. It seems a red bar like 3 should be at the bottom of part A so the bottom of the hull (part G on page 2) will attach. However, cutting at the designated line for a waterline model would eliminate the need for that missing area.

Welcome to your first post at the forum, though. I assume you are interested in ships????
Ships? Not especially. The American Civil War (ACW) is one area of interest. So the Monitor fits that bill. My main interest is HO trains. I model and scratch build rail cars and rail weapons from the 1861-65 conflict. Paper buildings and ships &c serve as background and/or mid field structures or props.
My second enjoyment is WWI aircraft and armor.

Even interesting hobbies need to be stepped away from occasionally to clear my head or deal with parant and children/grandchildren drama. Interest and desire waxes and wanes. Such has been the case for the past 8 months. I now am returning to modeling to escape those around me.

I have 2 blogs displaying my work that have been neglected of late. At this moment I won't post links to them, perhaps at a later date when I figure out the link posting thing and feel up to listening to rivet counters.

I had no problems either but I also have a Mac Pro so things just work. I'm running Windows XP in real time on my Pro though I'm never sure if things work because it's running on the Mac chipset or what.
