Well - they are the colors of the replica built in 1975. One would think the folks who put years of their lives into researching the original would know what they're doing - and the Victorian age certainly loved gaudy colors. Then again, so did the Seventies!

cheers: Oliver

The colors are relatively accurate, with the exception of the blue. More recent research points to the blue being a slightly darker blue than was used on this reproduction. The decorator of this loco was from Scotland; from the Caledonian Rwy line and it's believed that the blue used on the original Jupiter is actually closer to the slightly darker blue of the Scottish flag.

Jupiter

I have always loved this type of loco the Classic 4-4-0 Woodburner, to me nothing comes close to the grace and beauty of the design. Sadly at the price It is way beyond what I can afford.

I continue to hope that someone might bring out a design for a similar loco here and also a Traction Engine model too.

Sincerely

Tom

Not an easy thing to model in paper. Lots of shiny surfaces, brass and Russian blue steel boiler, etc. I'm curious to see what the designer comes up with!
