Model by Gary Pilsworth.

Found an interesting thing while checking for places to download pre printed kits on the internet. Came across a model of Gary Pilsworth that is available for free download but which is being sold on dinodirect.com

I see models by Uhu and many others...

are they selling digital models or full printed ones?
I don't see anything explaining that.

I can tolerate selling the printed parts (paper/labour/ink)
but its still using models without permission.
And of course, these guys also use stolen photos for their listings!

I went and checked again. Seems its a constructed model working out to about $ 15 (R150 Zar) if my guess is correct. But judging by the descriptions on the photo's it seems that the peson is not well taught in spell check. Not very clean builds either

The part that bothers me is the admission of looking for pirated models. Pre-printed kits are not offered as downloads. Only pirated ones.

I would refrain from talking of those sites here, asking for them, or asking someone to send or trade those types of kits. It can result in loss of forum privileges.

Hmmm. not sure what to say, but were you looking for pre-printed kits or for downloads?

Some preprinted paper models are also available as legal downloads, for example, some of those at Gremir are available as downloads or as preprinted models...

Just a 2 cent question :-) If I bought a commercial model legally from store in digital file or in booklet and then scan and print it out on card stock, build and then sell a finish assemble model. is this illegal?

I don't know, but I would assume that it should be legal. You are charging for your time, material and expertise. Common sense should dictate that credit should be given to the designer.

Or I could be wrong
