Electrified paper airplane
Electric Paper Airplane Conversion Kit Electric Power by Powerup Great Gift | eBay
I ran across this on Ebay....watch the video and tell me your little gray cells aren't starting to fire on all four. This is the same setup that Easy Built Models is selling. If it can power a stick-and-tissue model, it surely should be able to work in our segment of the hobby. The first thing I thought when I saw it is it is time to enlarge Dr. Z's old ModelArt Chance-Vought Cutlass to 1:48 scale and plop in one of these bad boys.

Hi Darwin,
Yes, I noticed that little gem a few days ago at this link SAMS Models Section F. Motors. Rubber, Electric must scroll down to find it. Also several other options available for electric power before you get to what you found. Mike |

I don't understand the "smartphone controlled" element?

Hey Darwin, i was playing with one of these with my son over the weekend, and noted the following about it: 1) it's a pusher set-up, and 2, the CG is right about in the dead middle of the long spar between the prop and the motor, which takes a little getting used to as you figure out how to attach it to various paper plane designs. I ended up making one with cambered wings and a "V" tail which worked quite nicely
P.S>, thanks for the tip on using bamboo on the Bleriot...work continues...new photos posted here last night... |
