Thanks for the link to a most interesting model. Had no idea the Russians were testing dual-barrel self-propelled artillery. Looks like something out of Command & Conquer.

According to up-to-date information, there will be only one barrel on this very vehicle. But the first idea was to use the double - and Maksim wants to fix it at least in paper.

I cannot see the point of multiple barrels so close together. Not an effective use of military spending. One barrel usually does very nicely when it comes to inducing a migraine at the other end.

From what I read in wikipedia it was supposed to allow a higher rate of fire with less wear on the barrels.

A good point for sure but the idea is to have a spread of shell impacts that only overlap in CAP which would increase the number of migraine sufferers in the impact zone. Two impacts so close together would essentially be overkill and redundant in CAP (circular error probable).

Actually Russian letter "C" is for English "S" so it is 2S35.
