Talking MaksArt Models

This is a follow on from Herky's thread re the 1/100 Lun that he found the cover page of. After some investigation, it appears pretty certain that this model and the others in the series have been released for free download by the designer. Enjoy, go crazy even...

All the models appear well-designed and are quite complex with detailed interiors in most cases. If the vehicles build as well as they seem to be designed, it is very likely that one of them will represent my forst foray in 1/25 scale vehicles, a drift away from my traditional 1/32 and 1/35 fleet...

There is one more, a trainy thing, but the download links appear to have been toasted...will follow up and see if I can find a link that works...

Some might wish to be aware that MaksArt posts on a forum that pays less than no regard to the rights of any holder of copyright on any paper model where it can get away with posting a pirated copy.
Some might not be bothered by that.

Some might not be bothered by that.
Some might also have better things to do that stir up irrelevant material like this. What's your point? I spent a number of hours of mine time verifying the provenance of these models before discussing with the Admins how we might manage them and share them with this community without promoting any site with which we have ethical diffrences. Apart from my small faux pas with the original covers, now rectified, we have successfully acheived that.

"Irrelevant" you say, but noticeably you avoided saying "invalid".

Perhaps the point has been to ensure that people are now more accurately, fully and adequately informed about the actual provence of these models and can better make their personal choices.

Obviously some members of this forum are quite happy to frequent pirate sites.

Equally obviously confirmation of this forums administrative approval of the arrangement you describe would be helpful, for everyone.

Simon contacted both Chris Gutzmer and myself about these models

I have checked out the models, and we are reaching out to the designer to see if either the forum or ecardmodels can host the files.

And yes we are acutely aware what goes on the parent site/forum, and that is why we are trying to do it this way, so we can still provide the designer his download counts, and not limit our access to his models

i would only say that if the designer has uploading his models to a site for free distribution that is his or her choice or are you advocating designers can only give their models to sites you approve of.I am well aware of this forums rules regarding so called pirate sites which is why there is no mention of them here.Im assuming that you have accessed these types of sites to be aware that Maksart posts on them.Im just happy that another forum member has made the time and effort so that we can all<With ok from admin>share these great models.
