Actually looks pretty neat.....I think a model design is in order.

Now that is really cool. Aaron needs to see this.

Thanks for sharing Robert!

Looks like Mr. Kamov got it right a long time ago.......... why is everything "new" just a re-hash of old stuff..............

Saw an article today complaining that the F-22 was based on 90's tech............

Excellent find. Was this the type used in the Bin Laden mission?

No. That was a modified (highly) Blackhawk.

I thought as much as the tail rotor section shown after the mission doesn't match the S-97.
I wonder how much additional speed is gained from the pusher propeller?

UH-60L cruise speed: 173 mph
S-97: 253 mph

Would be interesting to see the civilian uses of such a chopper. High-speed air ambulance, exec transport, etc. I imagine the Coast Guard must be keeping a close watch on this.

High speed ambulance made me smile a bit Niki. You probably won't believe it, but do you realise that all UK Air Ambulances are TOTALLY funded by a charity. Government funds .. zilch! But their crews are NHS trained and paid

And even more unbelievable ... British Life-boats are totally funded the same way, but Life-boat crews are unpaid volunteers.

All those curves could make the S-97 a challenging paper model though.

Keep on snippin' ... Johnny.
