Thanks, guys.
I collect paper-modells since years and have a pretty vast collection by now.
If you look for a special model, just ask me.

When I was young, I build nearly everything, what the German printers Wilhelmshavener and Schreiber had to offer. Ships, planes and others.

Now I collect TAXIs in every material and scale!
Building some themself is quite a challenge. I build a couple of models for friends of mine, like the Mercedes C-Class (1990th), the Mercedes E-Typ or the Ford Transit Connect.

At the moment I'm finishing a FIAT Siena as Rio-de-Janeiro-Taxi after fotos of a friend of mine over there.

And I'm working on an OPEL Omega 2.0i Caravan, which was MY OWN TAXI around 1995!

I would love to exchange and share models with all of you.

A coincidence, as the 1949 movie "On the Town" was on TV recently. The taxi in that film seemed like it would be a very nice model. It's an American sedan of that era, dark red with black/yellow checkered trim.

By now, I did only models for some of my friends.
And some others I painted new as Taxis.
And recontructed them with extraparts.

But I allways wanted to build a model from an US-Taxi-prototype 'Troy' witch is - for me - the ideal taxi right now!
Looks oldfashioned but practical.
A workplace!

A Taxi has to be realiable, cheap in repare and consumption, and comfortable for the customers as for the driver.
For example: The famous London-Cab ist terrible for the driver to spend 12 hours a day behind the wheel!
Or a German E-Class is uncomfortable for the elderly customers.

In the movie 'On the Town' it is a Chrysler Windsor of 1947!
I do have that car as die-cast-model in a scale 1:43!
Together with the movie screenshots it should be possible to construct a papermodel!
If I finished my FIAT Siena Rio-de-Janeiro-Taxi I start working on that cab.
If I can share pictures, I'll let you be part of that construction. And later I'll share it with you!

Actually I started to produce a Site with 'Taxis in the movies'! There are great ones with taxis in the mainrole (like 'Collateral' or '28 Days Later') but many movies with just a siderole, but beautiful cars.

Let's see.

I think it is at ten posts that you can 'post photos', but if you use 'Post Reply' instead of 'Quick Reply', you can post photos as attachments.
