I have a question:
I'm only at the very beginning to construct my own models, so the results are quite crude by now.
I use Photoshop, but just the very basics there.

So I would like to ask, which programm you are using for model-construction?

This one was an early product of mine for a friend. I drove that car for a couple of years. A Mercedes-Benz W 211 E-Class.
The scale is 1:36

Weeell, Some use Photoshop, some use CorelDraw, some use AutoCad, others Sketchup, some Paint, Paint.net, Blender, Pepakura, the list goes on. You'll get better answers if you ask the designers themselves. In the Designers Corner forum, there's a subforum called Designers Helping Designers. Try asking there. Actually someone may have already asked the same question. Take a look and see. Also take a look at the Software forum. A Search using the terms "design software" returned 14 pages of hits, so there's some good information in there as well.

btw, your model is not that bad. I've seen much worse. You must have been doing this for a while now. Cars are not the easiest subject to model with their compound curves and bends. And Photoshop is not the easiest program to learn either. On the whole, I'd say you're doing pretty well.

Edit: I just took a look at your taxis available for download and I was wrong. You're doing VERY well.

Thanks, Elliott.
I'll have a look on those sites.

At the moment I construct a FIAT Siena for a friend in Rio, but the frontpart is still a problem. With the modern car styling it's really hard to get the right perspective of the frontside, since the lights are going around.

Here is my model by now.
I hope, I can start building it inside this week.

Basically I used fotos, my friend took from his taxi.
The scale will be 1:30

Joern :
You do not have a problem -Per-Se with your car .Take the headlight area and turn it into little triangles and it should work .I have a Mitsubishi SUV that has the wraparound headlights and that's what the creator did there . Papersurprise 50

Dear Joern:
Your models are good . There seems to be levels of models out there from one page one part models to 1,000 part total realism models. I say start simple and then progress upwards. On that note have you tried to model the perfect taxi from your mind wish list? I would be interested in a thread like Jan did of Sailplanes models with a links to find the download site plus a picture of the model.
Very glad you joined,
Miles

Hi Joern, hail fellow well met!

Funny you should mention, but I have been looking for a Barcelona taxi; the model of car is not so important as the distinctive colour scheme. I'd also like to find a Hindustan Motors Ambassador (not sure if the Nash is the same model).

My interest in both of these stem from fond vacation memories in Barcalona and India.
