was a TV show "arrested development"
There was a movie in the works (many years after the shaow has been cancelled).
Both items from the show...although I think the Stair Car is only from the movie?

The show reminded me of "Soap".
Basically about an odd and dysfunctional family.

Sorry don't know what "Soap" is either, except the kind you take a bath with. Spending a major part of my life working nights and weekends and never personally owned a television lots of the references just go past me.

ok, you're 'merican and old enough to know Soap
unless you didn't watch TV in the 70s.
Possibly the funniest American sit-com ever made.
But not to everyone's taste.

A play on the "soap opera" idea, it was a primetime sitcom.
It introduced a number of well known stars.

Arrested Development (to me) was in the same vein.
Only it was a cable/satellite show.

Soap opera style, but in a sit-com manner.
But a lot less slapstick, and more dry and cerebral humour.
A little bit ahead of its time with the variety of weird and dysfunctional characters.
(Soap was the same way, dealing with race, sex, homosexuality, children, seniors, etc)

Anyway, I guess if anyone cared, they could wiki these shows
instead of having me ramble on about them...sorry

They are both "adult" shows and deal with adult problems within a very dysfunctional family.
Even though the problems are usually extreme and somewhat disturbing. lol

Spend most of the 70's working nights, weekends and trying to fit some college classes in during the week days. Other then the Winternationals drag races and the Riverside NASCAR with an occasional car or model show that was the total of life for about 10 years.

Anyway I'll return this thread to Ringmaster.

It was a TV show from a few years back, might return on the Net. The stair truck was from the TV show. It was the only car the family had after the IRS took everything. The lady who bought the company Lear Jet didn't want it.
Don't build it out of copy paper.

Not rambling at all! Thanks for the information airdave !! !! I think I'll try out both shows now.
Is it weird that I want to watch Arrested Development now because of the paper models?

Didn't they do a New Season on the Internet last year??
I seem to remember that on ET.
Maybe it was the Year Before last?
But, Most of the cast had returned and they were Filming/Taping!!

I never cared for it myself (Did not like Soap too much either)
