Things appear to have changed since the tatebanko was published 100 years ago. Be careful when you "drive" around, all the cars seem to be going the wrong way. There are many nearby schools and hospitals and vending machines everywhere. Sumiyoshi-ku seems to be severely deficient in litter and graffiti, at least in comparison to most US downtown areas.
