Canon Creative Park Roses Brooch

Here is something I built a few years ago.

It can be found at Paper Craft - Canon CREATIVE PARK by going to Gift & Card>Gift Items>Paper Flowers.

As stated it was a few years ago so details of the build are fuzzy but the model went together easy enough. I forget the dimensions but it is probably around 4-5 inches wide.

Very nice, Doug. It's easy to imagine legions of little girls who'd love to have these corsages. What weight of paper did you use? My wife asked me to make some of the Canon flowers a couple years ago, but I had to cut an inch strip off the stems to make them work for my usual 67-lb. paper. Meant to try some again with 24-lb. paper, but never got around to it.

I believe I used some of that 24lb bond paper. It makes it easier to curl the rose petals with that light weight paper. The finished product was given to a young niece those many years ago. I do not know if she still has it.

I am looking for something that will make those flowers at Canon Creative Park look like porcelain. I have tried some super thick gloss glaze but it hasn't worked out quite right. So I'll keep on truckin'. Maybe a combination of treatments will work.

Dear Doug:
Try Clear Nail Polish might take 5 or 6 coats to get a glaze look.
Good luck,
Miles

Here is an article about getting paper flowers to look like porcelain. She settled on using a product called Stiffen Stuff by Beacon. It is still available. But follow her directions that are down towards the bottom of the page instead of the directions on the bottle. It might be worth giving it a try.
