Papercraft Square.

Y'a'll seen the posh new layout at Papercraft Square?

PapercraftSquare | Free Paper Crafts, Paper Models, Paper Toys and Origami Download

Instead of just quickly checking the latest postings every day, now I gotta look under all the different headings, but I guess that's exactly what they want me to do.

They are there if you feed "ships" into the search bar, but you'll have to wade through airships and spaceships, etc, to find them.

Oh yeah, if you can't find the search bar ... click on the spyglass and it'll pop up.

Dear John:
So much fun to write that heading, I am Going to dump you, I had just looked at your post and thought that I had not seen Papercraft Square site in a wile so just as I hit the link my 14 year old daughter looks over my shoulder at the screen and she goes oh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pokieman figures Daddy I want that one oh and that one and so on. So John you are in the dog house for 15 seconds or so. at least the one she wants first is in PDF files. Do you have to score all the lines on some thing like that it is like Jessica rabbit you are doing? or can one form over a soup spoon? My wife used the last of the card stock so I have an excuse not to start right now. unfortunaly I can't just print it and say here you go you build it.
Thanks John
That will teach me to look at paper model sites with some one else in the room

Hee hee ... that'll larn ye Miles.

Now I do admit to having made a cubee or two of special interest, but I've not set foot down the Pokemon path yet. There's 'undreds more of them in the Papercraft Museum, but fortunately my granddaughters somehow missed that scene and are now teenagers. One of them is heavily into cosplay anime stuff though, and Sailor Moon is being firmly requested as soon as I get Jess done.

With humanoid or animal figures I always try to get both unlined and lined versions (with pdo files you can easily fade out the fold lines). That way I can see where the folds are meant to be, but actually build without the printed lines being visible.

By experience though, I have learned NOT to crease the folds, but just stroke curvatures into the card, and by gluing and clamping one tab at a time, the card will warp into much more natural shapes without all those ugly triangles ruining the surfaces. Of course when it comes to something like Jessica, curves is the name of the game baby, and as I'm now restarting her due to a mistake (I nearly said boob) I'll be seam taping too to get them to lay smoother.

Oh, and as far as the Dear John bit goes ... My name actually isn't John, it's Yiannis (ee-yan-ee), but I've answered to Johnny ever since I started school in UK, and sorta gotten used to it. I joined here as JohnM 'cos someone had already taken the Johnny username.

Seems they are still playing around with the navigation methods, but it's still in the new format for me.

I do note though that if you click on the 'home' tag you get all the models listed latest first as they did previously ... All 2,630 pages of them would take a while to step through though.

Seems that The Paper Craft Museum has recently recruited some new staff too, so perhaps we can look forward to some new developments there too.
