I edited your first link
a bunch of question marks doesn't help much in the advanced editor, there is a check box where you disable the retrieval of external link names Rick

Rick Thanks for fixing my post. I tried punching all the radio buttons on the advanced editor and still end up with a string of question marks, and I cannot even convert them back to kanji when I change my browser's encoding to Japanese. The only way I could make the URL appear as text was to cut it from the web site, past it into word pad, save and close word pad, reopen word pad and then cut and paste the now ASCII URL into the posting panel. I take it that you have a better way of doing this. I am "guilty" of posting strings of question marks for the URLs of most of the foreign sites I have found, because I had not realized there is a (secret, hidden) method for converting the HTML to text. Could you post a couple of screen shots showing how to strip the HTML from a copied URL? Thanks Last edited by John Wagenseil; 07-20-2015 at 05:41 PM. |
