Canon Toy Train : Paper Sugesstions

Hello,

I just found this toy train model at Canon's website. The author hasnt mentioned the kind of paper to be used for the modeling.

I am not able to post the link here for some reason. A search on google will give you the results instantly.

I was wondering if you guys could help out with that.
My local market has papers available from 70 GSM to 200 GSM.

Thanks,

Parth

Dear Parth:
I had to look on the equivalent scale, in the US I use 110 pound cardstock on most of the cannon paper models. try the 200gsm on this model. On bigger railroad stuff thicker is better. Several people here have built this model, do a search for posts with build pictures.
Enjoy,
Miles

Good morning:

If you want to continue the assembly process, with more than 100 photographs, here I leave the link

I agree with Miles, try using 200/199gsm paper. The Canon site mentions using matte photo paper but that stuff varies greatly weight. You could also try some 176/177gsm paper.

I built it using 67# cover stock and had no problems.

As far as posting links, you have to have a certain number of posts before you can post links. It is part of the anti-SPAM protocol. Looking forward to seeing this built

Dear Beard:
Got to remember this is a world wide hobby and Parth is in India so he needs to know that 67#card is 120gsm weight stock. Most of us in the US will keep 20 pound bond (typing paper) 67 pound card stock and 110 pound card stock around the hobby spot for printing on.
Will now climb off soap box,
Miles

I have been using 150gsm matt photo paper that I get off eBay cheaply (ICE MATTE INKJET PRINTER PHOTO PAPER 150GSM A4 100 SHEET PACK 5760DPI | eBay) for most of my models now. It gives better colour and definition than card stock and for most things it's heavy enough. I laminate it to 200gsm card for flat pieces that need to be strong. You can get 200gsm matt photo paper too, but it won't go through my Brother printer because that has a paper tray underneath, but other top-fed printers should take it OK.
