Here is a picture of the build at its present state

Outside parts of the wheels and the tread to go on the bottom, and then the exhaust flames

Looks really good, Rick. I was concerned about how the body panels would form with curved score lines, but obviously it doesn't present a problem. From the tightness of your build, it ooks like you're assembling with conventional glue tabs instead of the slot and tab system as designed (with the exception of the axles, of course). I had the same plan. I'm thinking I might assemble the wheels before forming the body. After you complete your model, let me know if you think that's wise.

I cut the small tabs off, and just glued the body using the big tabs, make for a sturdier model

Don, I might have to rethink how i do the final parts of the wheels

These are pictures of the left front, with the outer wheel and the tread placed, (not very well)

That's a great looking colored version, Mauther! Thanks. The wheels as designed looked like a problem to me right from the start, Rick. I'm sure you had the same misgivings. I'm considering removing the tabs from the "basic wheels", lengthening the tabs on the outer wheels so that I can score and glue them to the inside of the basic wheels before wrapping the treads. I plan to leave the ends of my axles unglued so that I can spread them out on either side of the slot after inserting them through the inner wheel. An oversized square piece of paper glued over the top will add even more strength. And, I might build the wheels while I still have a flat piece of paper, and form the body last. From your experience, does any of that sound doable?

Don,

It should do nicely what you suggest.

the problem with the basic wheel(the white part, there are no tabs on the top of the wheel, where it meets up with the body
makes for a flat-ish piece on the top of the tread

I can't see what Mauther has posted, as Photobucket is blocked by our firewall here in the office, so I will have to look at it when I get home tonight

I made a new version, with tabs in the tires. I think this way is more easy to assemble.

Download at Google Drive (link below).

Mauther,

Thank you, I have taken a quick peek, and I do believe that this version as you present it, will be much easier to build

Rick
