Nice whale. I translated the info below the picture of the finished model. Some very minimal instructions:

Cars from Daihatsu

A large number of late model Daihatsus from Daihatsu
https://www.daihatsu-aichi.co.jp/peparcraft
Simple but nice looking paper crafts.
Notice the picture of the fearless Japanese child cutting out the pieces with sharp pointy scissors.

A repost of a modern Japanese kitchen, scroll down to the 2 pdfs

There are links to other paper models on this site.

A possible re-post, an akita from the Akita prefecture site

I went to the Daihatsu site expecting to see landing craft. I forgot that Daihatsu is also an automobile manufacturer.

The models are very nice. Simple, but they look well-designed, and the art work is excellent.

A recovered paper model of the Toyota 86, which was done for a Toyota fan publication. The model parts were archived, but the instructions are lost. How parts fit together is reasonably intuitive, so there is an excellent chance of a successful build in spite of the missing instructions. The model was designed by Toshimasa Mitsutake, who has done many commissions for Canon.

Paste these URLs into the Wayback Machine, and click on one of the earliest dates.

Another "lost" model by Toshimasa Mitsutake, this time a Fiat Abarth 500, which was posted on a Japanese fan site.
https://www.scorpione.jp/papercraft.html
Past the URL into the Wayback Machine, chose an early save date and scroll down until you see the word download. Click around to get both the PDF of the model and the instructions.

Mitsutake-san is a commercial artist. His web site:

Don, it took awhile for Daihatsu to get their products to the beaches of California. I just found this article about Japanese "kei cars" of which Daihatsu makes a lot, now I know why Japan has cute small car models that do not show up at US dealerships. Did you ride around in them when you were in Japan?
