[QUOTE=John Wagenseil;749080]I stumbled across this example of "tatebanko art".
立版古 | ToMuCo - Tokyo Museum Collection

This one looks like a single sheet view of a harbor, with three Japanese warships in the background (?~1905). The main action depicted is a rowing competition among 4 longboats, each with 8 crew pulling 8 oars and a coxswain at the stern. The central structure on shore is a viewing platform. Because the longboats are printed on both sides, to be folded, I think they can be moved and pointed either way, to re-enact a race with a full lap up and back. I suspect the colored squares make flags, which can be hung on a thread to create the finish line. A lively tatebanko, cramming a lot into one sheet!

Thanks for the explanation, when I saw the image, I could not wrap my head around how the parts could be cut out and built. I have my suspicions about whether or not this single image represents a complete model, since it does not have the customary inset image showing the built up model.
This tatebanko could be made into a race game, by moving the longboats an agreed upon distance based on a coin flip, dice roll, or paper-rock-scissors outcome.

Tatebanko and omocha-e from Wikipedia

Category:Tatebanko - Wikimedia Commons
Category:Omocha-e - Wikimedia Commons
And example of a paper toy:
Category:Omocha-e by Toyohara Kunichika - Wikimedia Commons

It is worth exploring or burrowing into the links as there are more Edo period paper toys (omocha-e) scattered around Wikimedia.
Some of the cut outs appear to be for paper theaters or peep shows, others are games, and some are just toys to play with, including some huishoudbenodigdheden.

A few Paper Models from ... Korea

I found a few paper models from Korea (and links to paper models from other places):
공개 도면, 페이퍼토이전문디자인회사 : 네이버 블로그
To download the original Korean models look for the tine green arrow, click on it, then click on the group of Korean letters that look a little like an L.. PC.... Or just click on everything on the page until you randomly hit the download command.
For the models from off site designers, click on the line that looks like a link to another site.

If you get frustrated trying to do the downloads, pause for a moment and listen to some soothing sounds from this S. Korean a cappella group:
Maytree (South Korea) - Fly me to the moon - YouTube
And for people who can't get enough of MS Windows:
windows sound effect (acapella) - YouTube

Bonus:
An object that was not made out of paper, which displays the maker's skills with a filament pen:
오징어게임 그 피규어 만들기 - YouTube

Watch the videos for assembly hints.
These are black and white line drawn paper models that will not use up a lot of ink to print them. Get out your box of water color bricks and color them yourself if you are feeling artistic.
