I was there 1987-1990 (and had visited often between 1962 and 1987. I guess various kei cars were around, but I never particularly noticed them or rode in one. Lil and I drove pretty standard second-hand Japanese sedans, I a Toyota and she a Nissan.

The one car that caught my eye, and that I have mentioned from time to time in the Forum, was a beautiful steel grey Citroën 2CV with a walnut dash that lived in Roppongi. I never met the owner, but Lil and I hung out in that area a lot and I lusted over that little car every time I saw it.

There are similar cars in France and Spain. In France the advantage of them is that you don't need a car licence to drive them. Apparently in rural areas people who lose their licence for drink driving drive one of these annoying things, and in villages they are passed around from banned driver to banned driver. In Spain they're just a nuisance if you get behind one as they are speed restricted and on a 90km/h road 40km/h is a little frustrating!

I found the link to the original now gone site at Papermau:
PAPERMAU: Morris Acoustic Guitar Paper Model - by David.Co - Violão Acústico
If you have not recently visited the Papermau site, you should, he has posted several links to Japanese and many other paper models.

Archived 1/72 Tank and AC paper models from Japan

Another classic collection of paper models saved from extinction.

For me, this site was an early introduction to the world of online paper models.
Many years ago, I had the privilege of exchanging emails with the site owner and he was kind enough to mail one of his models to me.

Not a paper model from Japan (Sorry) but it is a paper model of a Japanese anime character, a chibi version of Kiki and Jiji from Studio Ghibli's Kiki's Delivery Service

it might be worth revisiting
Kujiracraft
‚*‚¶‚ç‚̍Hì•”‰®
the site may have been updated with new models since the last time you looked at it.
there are many difficult to build but rewarding paper models of anime characters here.
https://twitter.com/kujiracraft/stat...082112/video/1
Kujiracraft models have progressed from being difficult to fiendishly difficult, the new releases are based on a pose-able armature that by itself is a masterpiece of paper engineering.

A wonderful dragon has just been posted on Canon Creative Park web site.
Information about the new paper model is available here:
PAPERMAU: Wyvern - A Green Winged Dragon Paper Model - by Katsuyuki Shiga
(I think a penny in the dragons tail would let it stand on its own)
