Remote Control SR71 Cardstock Hybrid Build Thread Link

Hi,

I've been designing flying models and have been working to get them done as RC versions.

Recently I sold a couple on eBay. One of the builders is just incredible! She has done 2-cardstock models and is in the process of trying to convert one of mine into a 100mph hybrid (Cardstock/foam).

SR71 Paper Card Stock RC Jet Wattflyer Contest #3 - WattFlyer RC Electric Flight Forums - Discuss radio control eflight just in case you would like to check it out! It is being highly modified with depron foam, but she is a die-hard designer/builder of foam. So, my work is cut out to convert her to total cardstock...

Seems to be generating lots of comments about cardstock models.

I've had 3-requests to design and do others. I posted a couple of links to Papermodelers just in case some want to see how we do it!

Between these two forums all I do is meet people and email.

What ever happen to actually getting something done on my instruction drawings.

Oh, well a great bunch of builders just like here!

Best regards,
Mike Bauer

Very interesting indeed. I'll certainly be heading back to that forum to see the electric powered version of your paper SR71 take to the skies. You must be very pleased that people are taking your model to another level.

Your SR71 is a very nice model in its own right, all the more so given that it is flyable.

Do you intend to create a website or ebay store to sell your models?

Good luck with it!

I will be carrying all his model in electronic format. I am also considering selling the kit forms for him as an option where he will take care of shipping them out.
Thanks!
Chris

Hi Mark,

Just like Chris said, I'm trying to get some PDFs to his site.

My problem is I worked for a company that didn't want me selling them. So, most of my models were done for personal use. I didn't draw up instructions because I didn't need any, but now there seems to be interest and I'm trying to draw up some up, at the same time making sure they actually work for construction.

The really big models are printed on huge 2ft x 3ft sheets of cardstock. These will be the kits that Chris mentions. Not everybody has the capibilty to print on such large sheets.

Mike

Hi Mike,

Why didn't the company you worked for want you to sell your models?

Please let us know when the printed and download models are ready for sale. I am very interested.

Wow. That is fantastic Mike. The footage as it flies straight past the camera is amazing.

Those electric fans are loud.

The model you have created and what Chellie did with it are incredible.

You deserve to be getting more traffic in this thread. Hopefully others will take a look.

Great stuff and good luck with the sales.
