Free trams. buses etc.

While searching for HO model trams, I came across these two sites.
The Russian one has a range of model buses, trolleybuses and trams as well as a few other models. Click on the picture of your choice on the first page, then the model type on the next page, then on the third page you'll see a list of models. Click on the bold type vehicle name at the centre top of a section, and that takes you to the page for that model. Look at the top left hand side for "[ Скачать с сервера (nnn.nn Kb) ]" and click that, which is the download link. A bit convoluted, but it works.

The second site is an Australian Forum which has lots of Aussie buses and trams from our friend Mungojerrie. Click the photos to download.

I tried adding these to the links pages, but experienced difficulties.

PS: I lost (sob!) all my files for Soldex European trams, and have been unable to find the sites again (The Soldex site is no longer in existence) so if anyone can find any or has the models, I'd be grateful for links etc.

Graham

interesting models, But how do you correctly scale jpg/png files???
pdf are scaled For you, jpg/png/bmp are Not!!!
At least not that I have found.

Also, notice that the AUSSIE Forum Models are the SAME as the Russian one!!!!

@The-EDSEL:
I can't tell you how it is done, sorry, but I can tell you how I do it:
I often find nice models in jpg, png, or bmp format, but the scale is not given. I found it a big advantage that all these are pixel formats, and I either convert them (as is) to pdf, using the free PDFCreator, which registers as a printer, then print them out, which allows me to measure some of the key elements of that model, or I open the file in IrfanView (free) or Paint - any other pixel program is OK, too. Then I determine the length or height of any key element in pixels and compare that figure to the original dimension (data sheet or blueprint).
If I need to rescale a model in any of the pixel formats, I often use IrfanView, which allows rescaling by the given : desired number of pixels rather than by percentage.
About jpg: I always convert jpgs to 24-bit bmp before I do anything with them. I've found that whenever I try to save a jpg I've worked on, a lot of the quality is lost. That doesn't happen with bitmaps, since they aren't compressed.
In any case, I always save a backup and work on a copy.
I hope this helps you some. If not, or if you have specific questions, please contact me.
- Tex

The only problem I have with using one of those Photo editing programs is that
this CRAPtop can NOT do that
It will not even accept installing one!!!!
I need to get my Tower back up & functioning
That one has 8GB RAM & 1 TB Hard-Drive
This thing
No Idea on RAM, and only 500GB H-D
AND Close to FULL!!!!
And Slow as well as Acting up every so often
Primary Browser is Almost Constantly Refreshing EVERY tab
WITHOUT being told to!!!!

Is there a Portable version of one of those Software Programs?
I MIGHT get it to accept on a Thumb-Drive!!
