I have no problems with 4 shared or accessing/opening any of these files. 7zip is the easiest and best. Very straightforward.

I know I don't have the latest Open Office
4.1.2 Crashed and had to be dumped so 4.1.1 was re-installed
I have Portable versions of Open & Libre
But again, Neither is the Newest version
(MIGHT be Newest PORTABLE, but NOT newest overall)

I tend to shy away from the Newest of ANY software
Newest does Not always mean Best!!
More Often it is Worse than an Older WORKING version!!!!!

Same with whulsey, I don't feel safe signing up, so don't get the files. OK, there's always times that you don't get what you want safely. No worries, just don't build them, and look for others.

It is not that difficult, and there is definitely no need to be melodramatic about it.

Give me some time this evening, and I will have a step through tutorial

I do not want to offend but, when someone reports an intrusion attempt from a site and others report similar problems, it is not exactly politic to say people are being melodramatic. Not exactly the sort of comment I have come to expect from yourself.

no offense taken

thousands of people download successfully from the site, and yes, there are tons of ads with Download buttons, so one of those could bring harm, but saying the site is bad, when there is a method to download files, safely, and I have shown how to do that.

one can safely download any and all things from the internet, you need to be aware of where to click, and the proper security and tools will allow for that.

Rick

4shared is literally blocked here in Korea. I can't access any 4shared links. If I try to, the site redirects to a page that says "Page blocked due to harmful/illegal content". Maybe there were so many people uploading malware and illegal pirated content, and the government blocked the site. When I visit the UK, everything works perfectly fine.

The issue I had a problem with was the intrusion event as reported by my internet security program, in my opinion, anyone who runs a site where an intrusion event is launched from, possibly due to allowing access to all the third party sources, is endangering other peoples computer equipment. Perhaps I am one of a minority but not something I shall be repeating.
