F-35

I personally talk with a test pilot of F-35 last Feb. and he says it runs circles around the F-15 as in TOP GUN!

They said the same when the F-14 came out. Costly, more maintenance, etc. I remember a news story saying a F-18 can easily beat the F-14 in a dog fight. It did not mentioned that the F-14 can knock out the F-18 a hundred miles before it can do a dog fight. Twenty years from now, the F-35 would be considered cheap. Who knows, they might be gone in a generation, seeing how drones are getting better (a true armchair pilot).

correct me if i'm wrong the f-35 is meant to replace the f-16 and the a-10 not the f-15

am i right

i probably don't have the right to say this as i'm not american but i just imagine a warning near the fuel input saying "warning fuel must be at least 15% USD to be qualified as valid"

sorry but i couldn't resist saying this

Hey Ultra, been wondering were you'd got off to.

You're probably right and if its like the gasoline it will probably also need to be 10% ethanol green content.

15% Ethanol, and 75% gold by weight.

This is why the planes and fuel trucks are kept in the shade shelters. The desert heat at Edwards or Hill AFBS woul c melt that gold.

There already is an F-35 Pork Chop bashing thread in the Comedy Stand here.
But to add to all the fun and tears:

If you remove the wrapping, the warranty is voided and there won't be any money-back guarantee.
Next, you stand close to it and sneeze, the poor chubby Pork Chop needs to go into quarantine for a couple of weeks to recuperate from the caught virus.
It is so the opposite of those Russian machines, that, when the engine's faltering, just need a good kick and lo and behold, it runs again.

The F-35 has become my pet hate in the past years, I know...

It does however, pay for the apartments used by those in charge to shack up the odd mistress or twenty, not to mention the appointee's underwear accounts. Must be more than a few brown trouser moments in the house.
