He could have been a soldier.........maybe........

I had forgotten about this one until I ran into it on Pintrest. I drew this guy many moons ago and who knows maybe he was a soldier once. He might be good for the kids and grandkids.

The text says Oesterreichisches Bundes-Heer Dragoner. Are those pre-Anschluss Austrian dragoons?

Bundesheer just means "federal army" and is the name of both the austrian army (1921-1938 and post 1955) and modern german army.

Sorry Carlos, but I don't have a clue. They do look to be pre-WWII but I can't say for sure.

Austrian Dragons

Yes, they are post-WW1 but pre-annexation (Anschluss).
Is the late Great war uniform, wore with steel helmet.
The fur lined jackets come from the Hussars, the Napoleonic era heavy cavalry.
Dragons were intended to travel on horse but to dismount when fighting.
