Most of Makino's models have a directions; I don't see directions for the Falcon on the site or in the files. Am I missing something? Is it assumed that the assembly order is straightforward enough that directions are not necessary?

If you click on the Blog link on the left of the SF Papercraft Gallery page it will take you to the blog.
Look on the left of that page for the 16 Jun entry. That is the first page of the contruction blog. If you look to the end of the first line of Japanese text in the title of the 16 Jun entry you will see the number "1" indicating the first page of intruction. Looking at the other blog entries coming forward in time you will see other numbers at the end of the first line of Japanese text going from 2 - 14. Those are the other pages in the construction blog.
You can try translating the entire page(s) to your language of preference in order to navigate the site and use the intructions.

A side note: Looks like another R2-D2 variant is available. R2-Q5.

Noticed he also re-arranged his files. Originally there were 11 PDF's with out of order pages. Now there are 6 with the pages in order. Don't know if he updated anything else in them so I just D/L'd the new set. Just in case.

Really interesting.

According to the "official" data here, the "real" thing has 34.37m, so this new model with 33 cm should be nearly 1:100 if printed at 100% (1:96, more exactly).

Rescaling to 67% should provide something near 1:144 (~22 cm)... the same scale commercial resin models.

Since he got so near the edge on the Japanese sized pages, I need to print at 95% to fit my 8 1/2 X 11 cardstock.
Don't know what scale I need to print the cockpit graphics to fit. I'll just have to wing-it.
