Very cool. Ta muchly. I too was unaware of this resurrection. There's even some very desirable NEW models, but they still haven't published Potter's Bar or Temple Bar, to finish off the London Gates.

Already spent this months pocket money though, so all I can do is bookmark it into me Favorites.

Yes of course I downloaded the FREE Vanguard. As a boy, my Dad took me to visit HMS Victory ... Very interesting an' that, but this little lad was much more interested in the big grey monster in the next dock. It wasn't open to the public back then though, as it had only recently arrived and was still being 'Made Safe' before being opened up a year or so later. I never did get back to see it. I know The Vic is still there, but I'm not sure if The Big V is still around.

I just had a google ... No the Big V ain't still there. ....

When the day came, 4 August, 1960, for her to be towed from Portsmouth to the breakers yard at Faslane, Scotland the whole of Southsea sea front was packed with people to see her leave port. However, she did not go quietly. As she was being towed towards the harbour entrance ,she slewed across the harbour to the Still & West public house and went aground. She was eventually pulled off by tugs and finally and made her exit from Portsmouth. Five days later she arrived at Faslane and by the spring of 1962 Vanguard ceased to exist.

So I ain't not never gonna get to go on her. Think I'm gonna sulk now and refuse to go on the 'Victory' visit my son is planning for next Spring.
