Don Weeks - Holt One Man Tank
A new model from Don Weeks is now on Landships II - the Holt One Man Tank.
This is in 1:24 and 1:50 scales. This was a promotional item built by Holt with a wooden chassis and motorcycle engine/running gear. The media of the day seized on it and published fanciful articles that the One-Man Tank was to be deployed with the US Army in Europe. Regards, Charlie |

Thank you, not so much into tanks as Holt and Caterpillar but will be a nice display piece to go with the regular Cats.

I've been trying unsuccessfully to interest someone in designing a Holt 5- or 10-ton WW1 artillery tractor. There were many hundreds of these deployed on the Western Front in 1918. Some of the artillery tractors were sold out of service after WW1 and were used on farms and in forestry.

Here are 2 different Holts at the Heidrich Farm Museum in the Sacramento CA area. Is either one of these the ones you're talking about? This was 2011 when I was there, I've heard they added some more early Holts to the display as they've expanded.

The green one looks like a commercial Holt 75 - these were used in WW1 in 15- and 20-ton towing capacities. The khaki one looks like a Holt 10-ton tractor, the
5-ton was smaller but very similar looking. The armour covered the engine only - apparently the driver was expendable. Charlie |

Glad to see Don week's model is now available.
Good info on Holt tractors in this thread (as usual for anything produced by Charlie). Don |

The Holt One Man Tank was filmed outside the Holt factory on Aurora and Church Streets in Stockton, California.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53-HdUwcX1c At the beginning of the 20th c. Stockton was a major industrial center and Stockton's south side was covered with factories and canning plants. To the best of my knowledge, 30 years ago the Holt factory's boiler house was the only Holt factory building still standing, It is no longer there, in fact most of the previous buildings appear to have been razed and replaced with tilt up buildings. https://www.google.com/maps/place/Au...4d-121.2780326 |

Many thanks, Charlie, for the PDF assembly magic you performed to enhance the presentation of the model. The finished work is a big improvement on the raw pages that I sent to you.
