Very weird model - the Filtz Armoured Tractor. In 1915 the French Army seemed to have an obsession with barbed wire and commissioned the construction of a number of experimental vehicles to break through barbed wire entanglements. The Filtz Armoured Tractor was one of these - it was a fairly straightforward addition of an armoured shell to a Filtz agricultural tractor. Some variants were fitted with wire cutters in anticipation of the vehicle actually being able to reach the barbed wire. In fact it was a failure since it couldn't cross cratered ground and the trench crossing capability was non-existent.
