Alexander Bondar - Mexican Revolutionary Armoured Car
The US Army expedition into Mexico in 1916 was accompanied by a number of armoured cars. As a response the "constitutionalist" forces under Carranza responded by ordering the construction of improvised armoured cars on Mack-Saurer truck chassis. These fairly crude looking armoured cars could also travel on railway lines by simply swapping the wheels. It's not known whether these armoured cars saw any action.

A nice addition.
The U.S. Army War College Resident Class of 2016 presented the College with a painting by Matt Hall of the 1916 Pershing-led Punitive Expedition to Mexico (https://ssl.whoglue.net/proddetail.asp?prod=1318). It has been hanging in the Elihu Root Hall foyer for the past year, and I think it's a beauty. In addition to cavalry, motorcycles, and a Curtiss JN-3 aircraft, the print shows what I think is a Jeffrey Quad armored car and some FWD Model B trucks. A model of a Jeffrey-Quad would look well along with Alexander's excellent Mexican Revolutionary armored car. Don |

Look no further than Landships II - there is a download of a Jeffery Armoured Car No. 1 designed by Andrey Romanchuk - the scale is 1:43.
I think the armoured car in the painting might be a representation of a White armoured car - there used to be a model of this on ecardmodels - I have no idea if it's still available (didn't turn up in search). Charlie Last edited by CharlieC; 12-21-2017 at 10:25 PM. |

Thanks for the corrections, Charlie. I agree with your identification and am glad to know that there is a model out there of the White armored car.
