Alexander Bondar - Mexican Revolutionary Armoured Car

The US Army expedition into Mexico in 1916 was accompanied by a number of armoured cars. As a response the "constitutionalist" forces under Carranza responded by ordering the construction of improvised armoured cars on Mack-Saurer truck chassis. These fairly crude looking armoured cars could also travel on railway lines by simply swapping the wheels. It's not known whether these armoured cars saw any action.

Usual download location: Landships II

Charlie

A nice addition.

The U.S. Army War College Resident Class of 2016 presented the College with a painting by Matt Hall of the 1916 Pershing-led Punitive Expedition to Mexico (https://ssl.whoglue.net/proddetail.asp?prod=1318). It has been hanging in the Elihu Root Hall foyer for the past year, and I think it's a beauty. In addition to cavalry, motorcycles, and a Curtiss JN-3 aircraft, the print shows what I think is a Jeffrey Quad armored car and some FWD Model B trucks. A model of a Jeffrey-Quad would look well along with Alexander's excellent Mexican Revolutionary armored car.

Look no further than Landships II - there is a download of a Jeffery Armoured Car No. 1 designed by Andrey Romanchuk - the scale is 1:43.

I think the armoured car in the painting might be a representation of a White armoured car - there used to be a model of this on ecardmodels - I have no idea if it's still available (didn't turn up in search).

Thanks for the corrections, Charlie. I agree with your identification and am glad to know that there is a model out there of the White armored car.
