I found the assembly manual for a giant crane paper model that I cannot find.

Well, good thing, the instructions are in Dutch, and the main site the pdf is hosted on, is a Belgian heavy lift company.

I have a funny feeling that this kit was a promotional for Sarens.

I did send them a message through their Contact page, asking about the status of this kit

I too am interested in this kit and was about to do the same thing, contact them directly to see if its available.

I was going to keep everyone in suspense, and start a build thread on one of the two posters I received from Sarens out of Belgium.

I can tell you that the crane is a 1:100 scale model, and is printed on a glossy poster style paper.

Hi All,

When I first saw the title of this thread, I thought, "Oh, Sandhill or Whopping?" Then when Rick said, "Belgian heavy lift company," I was set on the right course.

If the old Meccano Magazines are to be believed, the British seem to have a deeper affinity for the "heavy lift" variety than we do here in the states. Crane affectionados may find further inspiration here:

That has some fantastic challenges for super detailing! Cut out all the gray spaces in the crane structure; tack/stretch it down on wax paper; soak it with thin CA; and let it cure for about 24 hours. Then cut out and assemble the boom.

Then check yourself in to the nearest psychiatric center

In all seriousness, though, it does look like a neat model. "If you build it, they will come." (an old movie in which a baseball stadium was built on a farm in the middle of no-where.)
