New at Space in Card Models

And yet again a little news from Leo Cherkashyn.
He has been busy!

After the Tsyklon-launchpad 4 and the rocket Tsyklon 4M it is now an updat or revision of the Vostok-capsule.

Look at SICM-website

WARNING

Be extremely careful if you merely just go to the SICM Web - it launches a cyber attack with malware around every 15 secs.

You can download files and still go there if you have a decent anti-virus system that is up to date.

I use Norton and it detected the issue immediately upon reaching the site, and then stopped the intrusions. MacAffe should do similar - but be careful!

Never had any problem...
Use and used various anti-virus and no signal.
Could be a false wrong?

But over all it is always OK to be careful and use up-to-dat AV and Anti-Malware.

Willem - no it is a genuine threat, and it s hosted by that PC.

See below screenshot below.

The threat is JSCoinminer 12 - it is Javascript malware that infects your PC and then takes over the central processor and video card resources for Bitcoin mining.

The problem is that once infected it wants to remain undetected for as long as possible so it can use your resources. Obviously, machine performance will be affected from time to time, but eventually, it will damage the vidro card and processor due to overheating.

The main symptom to look for is high CPU or GPU usage (or both) without you using much actively on your computer.

Slow system from time to time for no reason. Erratic or high bandwidth usage.

A serious issue is that it is "Intrusive" Malware - it will reside on your PC and extract information on any BitCoin wallets installed (kiss the Bitcoins goodbye - a real reason to panic!), passwords, accounts, take screenshots, log keystrokes (do you do Internet Banking?) etc.

It is not easy to remove.

If you want to as a precaution, you can download software that will check for the malware. To check if your Anti Virus software (Willem) picked it up, log onto the site and log off after 30 seconds. You should have got a warning, but if you didn't then check the logs of your anti-virus software. It should be recorded in the log file as a failed attempt - assuming the software is up to date. Check to see when it updated.

This malware was released late last year and is still being modded and changed - so a current up to date AV system is very important here.

Yep, got the warnings both times I went there recently. Didn't use to be that way.

OK Elliot, so if you got the warnings you should be safe.

Reassuring to know the AV software works. Out of interest what is it?

—--------------

Malware is becoming a real issue - it's growing every month exponentially and it is no longer just disruptive, but now rather aimed at your personal information or assets.
